Scattered showers continue across central N.C. Sunday evening with a few lasting into the overnight hours.

Some of the showers and storms could produce heavy rain so a flash flood warning as a result of heavy rain isn't out of the question.

Overnight lows will drop back into the upper 60s and lower 70s under cloudy skies.

    Looking Ahead

Monday remains unsettled with showers and storms likely. It will be hot and humid with highs in the lower 90s.

The rest of the week showers and storms are likely with the area finally drying out my next weekend.

"The biggest threat appears to be flooding downpours and localized flash flooding as shear is relatively weak," ABC11 meteorologist Steve Stewart said, "and instability is on the meager side for late July standards."
