    Section of Staples Mill Road in Henrico closed after vehicle crashed into utility pole

    HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A section of Staples Mill Road in Henrico County is closed after a vehicle crashed into a utility pole, causing it to block traffic.

    According to the Henrico County Police Division, in the early morning of Saturday, July 20, officers responded to a single vehicle crash near the intersection of Staples Mill Road and Talley Road.

    When officers arrived on scene, they located a vehicle that had struck a utility pole causing it to block both directions of travel.

    According to officials, Staples Mill Road between Talley Road and Glenside Drive will be closed for about 12 hours. Henrico Police advise drivers to avoid the area if possible.

    Henrico Police said an update will be provided when the road is reopened.

    According to Dominion Energy’s outage map , 99 customers are affected by a power outage in the area due to the crash. Power in the area is estimated to be restored sometime between 5 and 8 a.m. Saturday.
