YouTuber sensation MrBeast, known for his over-the-top stunts and generous giveaways, has set a new record, but this time it’s not for views or subscribers.

In a groundbreaking environmental campaign, MrBeast and a legion of social media influencers rallied their followers to remove a staggering 34 million pounds—that’s 17,000 tons—of trash from the world’s oceans.

The TeamSeas initiative, launched in January 2022, surpassed its ambitious goal through a combination of fundraising, awareness campaigns, and coordinated cleanup efforts.

Partnering with environmental organizations Ocean Conservancy and The Ocean Cleanup, the project harnessed the power of social media, generating over 1.3 billion views across 40,000 channels and inspiring participation from over 200 countries and territories.

The funds raised were crucial in mobilizing over 170,000 volunteers, who dedicated their time and energy to clean up beaches, rivers, and waterways around the globe.

Specialized equipment, including boats and robots, were also deployed to tackle the massive cleanup operation.

On July 16th, MrBeast uploaded a video announcing the trash removal was a success, and some of the participation figures were staggering.

Mr Beast said: “Team Seas is proof that when a huge amount of people get together to help make things better on this planet, big things can happen and we can’t wait to do the next big thing together with you.

“We have officially cleaned all 34,080,191 pounds of trash and plastic out of the oceans and rivers all across the world! That’s 4 million pounds over our original goal and 100% verified by an independent third party.”

Mr Beast is known for his philanthropy and stunts, with the star YouTuber even setting up his own charitable organization .
