While gaining fame thanks to songs like “Achy Breaky Heart”, Billy Ray Cyrus spent over 30 years touring the country and releasing over a dozen studio albums. Although Cyrus is a professional when it comes to the music industry, the country star recently played a different venue when he decided to perform at the funeral of the firefighter, Corey Comperatore, who was killed while attending a rally for former President Donald Trump.

On Friday, July 19, Cyrus traveled to Cabot, Pennsylvania to pay his respects to Comperatore and to honor his legacy. While the country singer decided to perform “Amazing Grace” and “Some Gave All”, ” he even shared a clip of him attending the funeral, captioning the post, “Corey Comperatore made the ultimate sacrifice. He gave all for his family and his country. It was an honor to be at his service today. You’re all in my prayers. All Gave Som. Some Gave All.”

While performing at Comperatore’s funeral, Cyrus also posted another picture of the firefighter, sharing his love and support for all those affected. “Just saw this post about Corey Comperatore who shielded his family. This firefighter lived, and died, to give all for his family and country. I am praying for America, Corey Comperatore’s family, the people critically wounded, the families who experienced trauma by witnessing it all unfold.”

Besides Cyrus performing, it appears that nearly 500 fire trucks traveled to the celebration of life ceremony to pay their respects to the firefighter. His daughter, Allyson, posted a touching message about her father, writing, “He was the best dad a girl could ever ask for. My sister and I never needed for anything. You call, he would answer, and he would do whatever it is you needed, and if he didn’t know how he would figure out how. He could talk and make friends with anyone, which he was doing all day yesterday and loved every minute of it. He was a man of God, loved Jesus fiercely, and also looked after our church and our members as family.”

While insisting she would never forget her father, Allyson concluded, “He loved his family. He truly loved us enough to take a real bullet for us. And I want nothing more than to cry on him and tell him thank you. I want nothing more than to wake up and for this to not be reality for me and my family.”
