Do you love freshly baked cookies? Most of us do. These warm confections can be hard to resist, whether filled with gooey chocolate chips, oatmeal and raisins, or fruit swirls. That’s why it’s easy to understand how this chain quickly rose to fame, especially with its ever-changing and exciting variety of flavors.

Almost overnight, there was a Crumbl cookie in nearly every city. But are these stores packed with customers all day? Check out this video from July 10 to hear one hypothesis and see what the people had to say in response.

Rachel (@ rachelwalksalot ) is asking a reasonable question. With the high cost of groceries and everything else, are people really spending almost 5 dollars for one cookie? Her theory is that the only people who go to Crumbl are the ones posting about it online. It’s hard for her to comprehend that people run out to try a new flavor. Depending on where you live, that’s understandable. If you have to drive more than 10 or 15 minutes, grabbing a Crumbl cookie on a whim is not as likely. However, if you live close to a store or work just down the street, there’s a better chance you’re sneaking in to taste their cookie lineup . Considering how quickly this chain has grown, there’s no doubt they have many regular customers.

How Many Crumbl Cookie Locations Are There?

Per Crumbl’s website , as of 2023, there were more than 800 bakeries in 50 states. That’s a staggering number, especially considering this chain only opened its doors for the first time in 2017. According to a CNBC report, as of February 2024, there were over 980 locations in the US, with cookie sales topping $1 billion a year . That’s a lot of dough! So it seems there are many more customers than just posting about it online.

Cookie enthusiasts shared their thoughts. Viewer @caylyn shared, “Girl, I go all the time. It brings me a shred of joy in this hellscape.” Warm cookies have a way of improving a lousy day. Another person shared, “I had a Crumbl phase that made me gain about 20 pounds. It took me about a year to lose it, but no more!! I look up copycat recipes and make smaller versions of them when I want something sweet.” If I lived right down the road from one, I might also have that problem. Viewer @sarah remarked, “Every time I get Crumbl, it’s like $50, and I regret it.” Fair enough.

Regardless of how you feel about these cookies, knowing that the American dream lives on is reassuring. If you don't have one near you, with this chain's explosive growth, you might soon see one in your neighborhood.
