From hogs to cheese on a stick, the Ottawa County Fair was in full swing
In case you missed the 60th Ottawa County Fair, we have more photos coming, but here is what was online and followed up in print.
Poultry, horse and flower judging took place Tuesday, as well as a variety of 4-H activities including swine and rabbit judging.

Fried Oreos are a strange but awesome, fair food
Among several fair foods, I tried fried Oreos for the first time. I bought these on Tuesday, at the 60th Ottawa County Fair.
I got them with the works, both powdered sugar and chocolate syrup.
I also had the option of caramel, but the guy making them said the combination of the two was a bit much. I think the guy was serious, and not doing his best Bob Newhart impression. I guess it's like doing a two-tone paint job on your demolition derby car.
As someone who is a fan of the basic Oreo, with a tall glass of milk, a fried one, with extra sugar and chocolate sauce does seem like overkill, but it's worth a try. I made sure to get a bottle of water, just to clean my palate. I'd had an exquisite ice cream shake earlier.
