Wolverines, Seminoles Set to Take a Step Back in 2024

I’m a negative person, everyone knows that. So which teams will take a step back this season? And does it suck to be a fan of a team that is assuredly going to be worse than they were in 2023?

    1. Michigan

A new coach, some key losses and coming off a perfect season mean that the Wolverines will be worse barring another magical undefeated run and national title. The question is, how much worse? If they go 8-4 under Sherrone Moore is there panic? With their schedule could they possibly lose four games? No matter what they will take a step back. Does it suck? Not really, the national title last year was well worth it.

    2. Florida State

An undefeated season and ACC title won’t happen this year with so many key losses on offense and defense. They will be one of the better teams in the ACC and a 9-3 year would be great, but the undefeated year of 2023 won’t be replicated. Does it suck? It sure does because they got screwed out of the playoff last year and couldn’t even truly enjoy their run.

    3. Texas

Many won’t agree with this one but the Longhorns are coming off a magical season and a conference title as well as their first playoff appearance. With an expanded playoff they could still make it but I don’t see them winning the SEC like they won the Big 12. I don’t see them 12-2 again but going 9-3 in their first year of the SEC would be good and likely enough for a playoff run. Would it suck? Nope. The playoff is all that is needed to keep everyone happy.

    4. Washington

Kalen DeBoer is gone as is Michael Penix Jr. and some other massive losses. Entering the Big Ten with a new coach will be rough and a playoff is not on the horizon. A good first year would be 8-4 in my opinion. Is it going to suck? It will as fans became temporarily spoiled under DeBoer.

    5. Alabama

This was either going to be Bama or Mizzou and I chose the former because they just can’t live up to what Nick Saban did. There is a new culture there, a new staff and the same old SEC grind with even more difficult additions. The playoff berth last year was a bit of a gift and they could be back but more likely it’s a 9-3 or even 8-4 season and no SEC title. And it’s gonna suck for those fans.
