Jordan Spieth's outburst at Royal Troon on Friday had the Golf commentators at Sky Golf saying sorry to viewers after a naughty word from the American golfer was broadcast by mistake .

The 30-year-old Texan had a tough time in his second round at Royal Troon, ending up with a score of +3. He managed to make the cut but was trailing behind front-runner Shane Lowry.

Spieth's round at Troon wasn't without its blunders, as he hit one way off course onto the railway tracks next to the tenth hole.

Clearly miffed after trying to keep his score even, Spieth bent over clutching his driver and let slip a curse: "----."

The commentary team from Sky [UK] Golf were quick off the mark to say sorry for any rude words that might have reached the ears of those watching the Open Championship. Spieth did get back on track after the mishap, almost managing a par from seven feet away, but ended up missing and slipping to +1, much to his annoyance.

It didn't get any better for Spieth on the eleventh, as another tee shot went awry, leading to an out-of-bounds and a penalty stroke. He tried for a bogey from just off the green but ended up with a double bogey instead, leaving him with a round score of +3 so far, reports the Mirror US .

Young, meanwhile, shares the same score as Spieth - while Scheffler seems to be finding success at Troon, sitting at T4 alongside the likes of Billy Horschel and Dean Burmester.

While the odds look stacked against him at present, Spieth will be hoping to add to his three major tournaments achieved in his career so far.

The golf pro would win the Masters and the US Open in 2015, before capturing his maiden Open Championship win at Royal Birkdale in 2017. In that tournament, Spieth would raise the title with an overall score of -12, with Matt Kuchar trailing on -9 and Li Haotong coming third with a score of -6.
