“It has all the details that you want to see in an Indiana Jones hat, meaning it’s marked ‘IJ’ inside, which is how all the other authentic hats that we’ve seen have been marked. It has some nice wear on it. There’s small evidence of makeup traces in the front of the hat band on the interior.”
The sable-colored rabbit felt hat belongs to the estate of Harrison Ford’s stuntman, Dean Ferrandini, who died last year.
The fedora is one of 1,900 memorabilia items from various movie and television titles set to be auctioned off at Propstore’s second entertainment memorabilia live auction of the year.
Another key piece from “Temple of Doom” is an original Sankara Stone, “the sacred rock that Indiana Jones is trying to find and bring back to the villagers in the movie,” Alinger said. That is expected to go for $25,000 to $50,000.
Other items expected to get attention are the leather jacket John Travolta wore in “Saturday Night Fever,” Dan Aykroyd’s suit from “The Blues Brothers,” and the Ghostface costume from the original “Scream.”
Props and costumes from television shows ranging from “Laverne and Shirley” to “Breaking Bad” are also included in the auction.
