If you have pets or kids, you are no stranger to dirty walls, especially if they're white. Long stretches of hallways with dirty grime streaks that span the entire length might sound familiar!

Cleaning walls is pretty simple, and typically, a rag and some generic cleaning solution will do the trick on dirt, dust, and grime. But with kids, that's not all that ends up on walls. Craft time can quickly go from coloring a picture of a starfish into a full-blown Picasso piece on the living room wall. As any parent will tell you, scrubbing crayons off walls is not for the faint of heart. Before you spend hours doing this daunting task, check out one mom's hack that makes the job way easier!

Ah, at last, a trick for removing stubborn crayon marks that actually works like a charm! By smearing a little toothpaste on the wall, the crayon comes off almost instantly… Can you say brilliant?

It seems totally counter-intuitive, but somehow, it works like magic.

    DIY Wall Cleaner

Cleaning walls is never fun, but if you want them sparkly shiny, you have to do the dirty work. If you're looking for another easy DIY trick, here's another fun one you can try. Skip all of those expensive store bought cleaners and try a mix of Dawn Dish soap matched with a Mr. Clean Magic eraser sponge. It works like a charm!

Filling a small bucket with warm water, add a few drops of Dawn, and use the magic sponge to scrub the dirty patches out of your walls.

Regardless of how you get your walls in order, keep in mind that kids will be kids, and they won't be little for long. Someday down the road, when they're headed off to college, you'll long for the days when they'd present you with an original work of art across the walls in your home.
