Prices have gone up at most retailers and grocery stores, including Aldi, but you can still find some great deals on everyday items. This includes back-to-school essentials, snacks and summertime items that will fit neatly into your budget .
Whether you’re having a mid-summer barbecue, heading to the beach or going on a picnic, it never hurts to have a couple of snacks on hand. At Aldi, you can get a 10-ounce bag of wavy potato chips for a little over $2. They’re lightweight, savory and go great with a dip — think cool ranch.
And if chips aren’t your thing, don’t worry. Most grocery items at Aldi are cheaper than what you’d find at other grocery stores. The selection also changes fairly frequently and by location, so check out your local Aldi to see what’s in stock.
Whether you’re camping or heading to the beach — or poolside — having a portable, foldable beach mat can really add to the overall experience. This particular option is only $10 at Aldi and comes with a sturdy frame and solid back support. It’s even got a little cushion for your head.
Since it’s foldable, it can fit into tight spaces with ease, too. This means that it won’t take up much room when not in use.
August is still a great time to go swimming at the lake or pool. With this inflatable bed, you can float the day away in the water with the sun shining down on you — just don’t forget to put on some sunscreen, or you’ll end up with more than a nice tan.
This inflatable bed comes with built-in armrests and back and head support for maximum comfort. It also has an opening where your feet go, so you can maneuver while lying on your back or get your feet wet without having to commit to diving in.
Summer will be over before you know it, and that means it’s about time to do some back-to-school shopping. Pick up a three-pack of college-ruled notebooks from Aldi for under $3 apiece. Each notebook contains 120 pages and has interior pockets to hold loose sheets of papers, notes, stickers and pencils. It’s perfect for school-aged kids and college students alike.
Another must-have back-to-school item is a reliable backpack. At Aldi, you can find backpacks for under $15. Even compared to retailers like Target, which sell similar items for between $15 and $20, that’s still a great deal.
This particular sports-themed backpack has a padded sponge mesh back, padded shoulder straps and a large main pocket. It’s simple but functional. Plus, it’s easy to wipe clean in case of minor spills.
Back on the food front, you can grab an eight-pack of hot dog buns at Aldi for practically pennies. These are a must-have if you’re planning any late-summer barbecues and want to toss some hot dogs on the grill before the fall season starts back up.
To go with those hot dog buns, grab a pack of beef franks. They’re fully cooked, meaning they’ll heat up and sear quickly on the grill — or in the microwave, if you’re in a major rush. Add some condiments from Aldi — which you can also get for cheap — and you’ve got yourself a simple but filling meal.
