The tight-knit bond between a dog and a person who doesn't consider themself a "dog person" is a tale as old as time. This is especially true with one Staffordshire Terrier named Tommy and his favorite person—Grandpa!
In a sweet TikTok video shared by Tommy the Blue Staffy ( @tommybluestaff ) shows the special relationship between Tommy and Grandpa. The love they share is just impossible to resist!
In the video captioned, "The most unlikely duo," Tommy is laying on Grandpa's lap with his big eyes as if to say, "this is my human." A montage of their best moments together follows, showing Grandpa riding a bike towing an excited Tommy behind him in an attached cart, followed by the dynamic duo snuggling in the back seat of a car, playing on the floor, having one-on-one time outside, cracking snack jokes in the back of the car, and living their best lives on the beach—all while enjoying one another's company. These two are a match made in heaven for sure!
"Every dog needs a grandpa that's 'not a dog person,'" the clip says and it's so true. Many of Tommy's 156,000 followers chimed in to show support of the twosome, noting how precious their bond really is.
"I’m pretty sure that’s his dog now," one person said. "They are quite a match for each other!!" another remarked. "I don't see a dog anywhere. I see a grandson," another added.
Tommy won Grandpa over, but the rest of us were already fully in love!

Do Staffordshire Terriers Make Good Pets?
One look at Tommy and our hearts melt. He truly loves his Grandpa, and you can tell by his overall demeanor he's a very good boy. The American Kennel Club says the American Staffordshire Terriers are smart, confident, good-natured companion breed. These dogs are loyal and when properly socialized, can be the most trustworthy pet to have.
Known for their lovable personalities, Staffys and Bully breed mixes are incredibly intelligent dogs who love mental stimulation and game-playing or puzzles. But don't let their oftentimes "tough-looking" exterior keep you from getting to know them because you'd be missing out on an incredible dog.
Like Tommy, these "land seals" are easily trainable, highly devoted to their families, and the most endearing pups around. It's no wonder a once timid Grandpa converted to a dog person after spending a little time with the Staffy. Tommy is an absolute sweetheart and deserves all the love in the world.
