An unusual source is behind a recent shoe theft at one Upper Peninsula Michigan state park.

Tahquamenon Falls State Park announced the issue in a Facebook post Thursday, with flip flops and Crocs taken from campers at the state park's Rivermouth Campground.

"It was discovered today that there are multiple thieves, and they have four legs and are adorable," the post says.

The state park said the missing shoes turned up outside a fox den, with bite marks visible on the flip flops and Crocs.

"Heads up if you are camping this summer at the Rivermouth, you'll want to keep your shoes inside your camper ," the post warns.

The Tahquamenon Falls State Park urged visitors to keep their shoes inside their campers to avoid further issues.
