A Major League Fishing tournament is coming to the Midlands.

The 2025 Bass Pro Tour , the seventh season of professional bass fishing’s most competitive circuit, will host a four-day competition at Lake Murray — The Jewel of South Carolina — from March 6-9. The Lexington County lake is a venue with a reputation for fine fishing .

The 2025 season will showcase 65 of the world’s top professional bass anglers seeking big winnings, including a top prize of $150,000 at every regular season event, points in the Fishing Clash Angler of the Year race, qualification into championship contest REDCREST 2026, and the General Tire Heavy Hitters all-star event.

“We’re excited about the rollout of the Bass Pro Tour 2025 schedule and what the season will offer to our fans: a fun mixture of new and familiar destinations, with a variety of fishery types and styles,” Kathy Fennel, the league’s general manager and executive vice president, said in a news release. “The schedule includes some of the best bass lakes and rivers in the country ... We’re grateful to our fans, local partners and Bass Pro Tour anglers as we’re set up for an exciting 2025 season.”

The Lake Murray stop will be the third stage of the seven-stage tour, which begins in January.

The regular season then culminates with REDCREST in the spring of 2026.
