‘Cobra Kai’ Season 6 Earns Series’ Lowest RT Audience Score Yet

Season 6 of Cobra Kai premiered this week and has thus far earned the show’s lowest audience score on Rotten Tomatoes .

The Karate Kid spin-off has been a big hit for Netflix , but at the time of this article, the new season is the first not to score 90% or better.

In Season 6, Daniel LaRusso ( Ralph Macchio ) and Johnny Lawrence ( William Zabka ) enjoy a period of tranquility in the Valley with their karate students, while John Kreese ( Martin Kove ) spends time abroad training a new Cobra Kai squad that will compete in the upcoming Sekai Taikai.

‘True Detective: Night Country’ Now Has More Views Than Season 1

Could the fact that there’s little conflict in the first five episodes be the reason why Part 1 of Season 6 has the lowest score yet?

The storyline is still compelling given that ( SPOILER ALERT! ) Tory Nichols’ ( Peyton List ) mother dies and her grief pushes her to seek solace from her mentor, Kreese. Overall, however, there seems to be a lack of drama, and critics are also noticing.

Critics have given Cobra Kai Season 6 a series-low Tomatometer rating of 82% for the streamer’s Karate Kid spin-off from showrunners Hayden Schlossberg , Jon Hurwitz , and Josh Heald . You can check out Cobra Kai ’s season-by-season Tomatometer ratings below:

At the end of Season 6 Part 1, Miyagi-Do’s karate team arrives in Barcelona, Spain to compete against the other teams in the Sekai Taikai. The big reveal is when John Kreese (Kove) appears to Daniel (Macchio) and Johnny (Zabka) for the first time at the event.

Nichols (List), who is now part of Kreese’s new Cobra Kai squad, butts heads with Kreese at the event. The actress was recently asked what it is that Tory can get from Kreese, that she can’t seem to find from anyone else.

“That’s a really good question,” Nichols told Collider . “I think what she can get from him is being his number one, and she can’t be anyone else’s number one.”
