The New York Giants brought in Devin Singletary to lead the backfield following the departure of star Saquon Barkley.

While the Giants believe Singletary has the ability to lead the backfield in a functional manner, Pro Football Focus is projecting the veteran to have a career season.

According to their fantasy football projections for 2024, Singletary is projected for 1,109 rushing yards and six touchdowns.

It would be a pretty big surprise if Singletary were to hit these numbers, but the Giants would certainly be delighted if he did.

Not only has Singletary never reached 900 rushing yards in a season throughout his career, this would mean putting a lot of faith in the offensive line — a unit that still has plenty of question marks.

Singletary should give the Giants a quality starting running back to lead the backfield. He showed plenty of potential to do so when he took over the starting role for the Houston Texans for the second half of the season in 2023.

Over the final 10 games of the season, Singletary took 167 carries for 715 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns. Over a 17-game pace, that would turn into 284 carries for 1,216 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns.

That, of course, was with a Texans offense led by C.J. Stroud that turned into one of the best units in the league.

Singletary will certainly have the opportunities to put up a career season, and the Giants would be thrilled if he put together this kind of campaign.
