Last weekend’s pre-taped episode of Collision featured the highly anticipated match between Dalton Castle and Roderick Strong, with the winner going on to challenge ROH World Champion Mark Briscoe at Death Before Dishonor. However, the finish would need to be heavily edited in post-production after Strong’s jumping knee legitimately knocked out Castle, with it understood he was down for several minutes. And now ROH’s owner Tony Khan has sadly announced on X that the flamboyant wrestler will miss not only Friday’s pay-per-view but also the rest of 2024.

38-year-old Castle broke into the business in 2009 after starting out as an amateur wrestler. His big break would then come in 2015 when he made his television debut for ROH. From there, he worked his way up the card and achieved his career highlight in 2017 when he won the ROH Championship from Cody Rhodes at Final Battle. And while it’s known he was dealing with a back injury, he still held the title for six months, successfully defending it against Jay Lethal, EVIL, and Marty Scurll to name just some of his challengers.
