Man, 46, who had gone missing in Red River Gorge found alive. What we know

A 48-year-old man who had been missing since July 6 in the Red River Gorge area was found alive, according to a Facebook post from the Wolfe County Search & Rescue Team.

The post stated that Scott Allen Hern was found alive but would need medical care. He was waiting to be transported through air evacuation from his location.

Several agencies, including the Wolfe County Search & Rescue, Powell County Search & Rescue and Red STAR Wilderness EMS had been actively looking for him for several days. Along with their rescue teams, they also had canine units searching.

Before being found, he was believed to last been seen on July 6. The Wolfe County Search & Rescue Team also believe his car had not been moved from the head of the Tower Rock Trail since that day.
