YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — The Salvation Army of Mahoning County hosted its annual Christmas in July event on Saturday to support the local community.

The Little Caesars Love Kitchen was on site handing out hot pizza for free. It’s a big pizza restaurant on wheels that travels across the U.S.

Paul Moore, an area coordinator for the Salvation Army of Mahoning County, said the event can help people who want to celebrate the holiday season but can’t afford decorations.

“A lot of [people] don’t have extra money to buy Christmas decorations and stuff. So, they can get free pizza and good decoration,” Moore said. “We hope it’s a help to them.”

Much like the Salvation Army, the Little Caesars Love Kitchen aims to help those who are hungry, homeless or victims of disasters.

“We all jumped at the opportunity ’cause it’s such a great opportunity for us to help the community,” said Sean O’Dwyer, a Little Caesars Franchisee.

The kitchen serves more than 3.8 billion people across the U.S. and Canada.
