Alabama Workers Met with Inspiring Example of Southern Hospitality!

    2024-07-22

There's been some bad news coming out of Texas, recently. In the wake of Hurricane Beryl, millions of homes were left without power. When Alabama Power, the largest utility company in Alabama, sent crews to help restore electricity, the Mayor of Houston announced that the linemen were often met with hostility as temperatures and frustrations soared. In the spirit of southern hospitality, however, one small town in Texas set a great example for the rest of the state. Not only were they grateful for the help from Alabama Power, they let the Alabama linemen know in a very creative way! Here's how a small town in Texas raised the bar on southern hospitality for Alabama Power!

Crosby is a small town located on the eastern coast of Texas. Like most small towns in the south, it's filled with good people who still have small town values and gratitude. When the Alabama Power linemen rolled in to Crosby to help restore power, the people of Crosby let them know they were appreciated by posting signs throughout the town. Their gratitude, in turn, was very much appreciated by the linemen of Alabama Power! Photos of the signs taken by the Alabama Power employees were shared on the Alabama Power Facebook Page with the message, "Texas, thank you for your support. We are proud to assist you."

Some of the signs were simple, while some residents went all out! The message was the same, however, as the residents of Crosby, Texas made our Alabama Power employees feel welcomed and appreciated. For that, we thank YOU, Crosby, Texas!
