The Chimney Rock Interpretive Association hosts a Full Moon Program where guests can enjoy the night sky "unhindered by lights of modern-day civilization."

The program is offered once a month to coincide with the full moon. Check-in times vary according to the moon's rise time. Visitors will get an informative lecture on topics related to the Chimney Rock site, including ancestral Puebloan culture, archeoastronomy theories, area, geology, etc.

The music of Charles Martinez will fill the air as the moon begins to rise. Visitors can see the sunset to the west or the moon as it rises above the eastern mountain range.

The entire program is about three hours, including driving to the mesa top and hiking the Great House Trail (at the top is a 360-degree panoramic view). Visitors can also take an early guided tour of the Mesa Village Trail before the program begins.
