Reason why Angelina Jolie's daughter Shiloh dropped Brad Pitt's name in new ad

Shiloh Jolie is the latest child of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt to drop her father's last name.

Formally known as Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, the 18-year-old filed a petition to remove "Pitt" from her name back in May, on her birthday. But recently the teenager took out an ad in the Los Angeles Times announcing the removal of her father's last name.

The ad is reportedly a requirement that needs to be done in order for the court to approve her petition. It states Shiloh's intention to go from Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie. It also says that if anyone objects the petition, they have to show up in court later this month and plead their case.

Shiloh is Angelina and Brad's latest child to drop Pitt from their name. Angelina and Brad have six children - 22-year-old Maddox, 20-year-old Pax, 19-year-old Zahara, 18-year-old Shiloh, and 15-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.

Vivienne is listed as a producer for the Tony-winning Broadway show The Outsiders, along with her mom Angelina. On the playbill, she only goes by Vivienne Jolie.

Last November, Zahara joined the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority at Spellman College, and during their induction ceremony, she introduced herself as Zahara Marley Jolie.

Brad and Angelina first started dating in 2004 after meeting on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith and married in 2014. Then in 2016, Angelina filed for divorce.

The divorce still hasn't been finalized, and it's been a tumultuous one over custody and a legal battle over shares of a French winery Chateau Miraval. As for the reason why Brad's children are changing their names, it might have to do with Brad being accused of abusing her and their children.

In a heavily redacted FBI report, The Tomb Raider star accused the 60-year-old of physical and verbal abuse towards her and their children. Variety reported that in a countersuit Angelina Jolie's legal team filed last year about the September 2016 plane incident: "Pitt choked one of the children and struck another in the face" and "grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her."
