BAY COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – Hammerhead Fred along with the Animal Haven Rescue of Bay County hosted their 3rd annual Mermaids and Meow event.

On Saturday afternoon, the non-profit animal rescue showed off their finest cats that were up for adoption. There were six available.

With the help of local artists and mermaids from the crew of Enchanted Seas, they offered up their services.

Panama City Boys Scouts paid their respects retiring over 70 flags

All the proceeds go straight to the shelter.

There were even nail trims for dogs being offered during the event.

“I mean, you know, all of our cats are in foster homes, so they are carried around and loved on and not put up in cages all day. So they get a lot of love and attention and they are very affectionate and sweet and laid back,” Animal Haven President Stacy Pippin said.

Pippin says vet bills, cat food, litter, medications, and other supplies add up and they can use all the help they can get.

They plan on holding another fundraiser in October.
