Jennifer Lopez is 'hopeful to salvage' Ben Affleck marriage as they look to unlikely mediator

Jennifer Lopez isn't ready to let go of Ben Affleck , despite their continuous divorce rumors.

The pair have been enveloped with chatter that their marriage, which is only two years old, might be crumbling. After all, Ben purchased a separate home as they popped their $60 million family home onto the market. He was also spending some time with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner .

As for JLo, she's gone off on quite a few solo adventures and was left alone for Mother's Day and their wedding anniversary. However, now sources are insisting that Jen is giving it all to fix their shattered love.

An insider told the Daily Mail : "Jennifer is hopeful right now about salvaging her marriage to Ben. She would not be spending time with his children acting in the role as a mom to them if she was not working things out with him or, at the very least, on the right path."

They went on to explain that the time they've spent apart was actually strategic and was meant to give them "space" to think. Now, it reinforced that their love still remains. The source added: "Jennifer has put work on hold to focus on repairing the damage that was done. She knows that she allowed her career and her fame to come between her marriage at times."

After plenty of back-to-back career moves, JLo is also stepping back to focus on her personal life. Her concentration is on being a mom and experiencing life as a "normal person." The star recently canceled her massive tour . She announced: "I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down. Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary ... I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again. I love you all so much. As for Ben's pull back to his ex, the source said it was purely platonic. Jennifer Garner is acting as a "mediator" for the pair as they work on mending their relationship. "Jennifer is eternally grateful for her help even though she has now taken a step back,'" the source said. "But Jen was able to get through to her ex-husband like no one else could – even her."
