Los Angeles Chargers should keep tabs on potential Dolphins roster cut

The Los Angeles Chargers figure to have a much different, much more pronounced rushing attack in 2024 now that Jim Harbaugh is the head coach. However, the team may need to look for more depth to reach that goal.

This offseason, the team signed former Baltimore Ravens running backs Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins, but questions follow both players. How will Edwards handle being the No. 1 running back? Can Dobbins stay healthy?

If neither of those questions has a positive answer, rookie Kimani Vidal may not be enough for the team to fall back on. But as Dakota Randall of The Pro Football Network writes, the Miami Dolphins may have a player on the chopping block who could help.

The Chargers should add Jeff Wilson if he is cut

The Dolphins have one of the most potent running games in the NFL behind Raheem Mostert and De'Von Achane. They also used a fourth-round pick on Tennessee running back Jaylen Wright. That leaves little room for the veteran Jeff Wilson.

If he is in fact cut, the Chargers should look to put in a waiver claim. A veteran of six NFL seasons, Wilson has 2,313 career rushing yards and 18 touchdowns. He would be a solid fit in Greg Roman's offensive scheme and could provide a terrific option if something were to go awry with either Edwards or Dobbins.

This is nothing more than speculation right now, but certainly something for Chargers fans to keep in the back of their heads.
