GUERNSEY COUNTY, Ohio (WTRF) — It’s a small village but the folks in Old Washington certainly know how to throw a big party.

One of this summer’s most anticipated events has wrapped up.

The first-ever Old Washington Music Festival is in the books with 5-time Grammy nominated artist Hunter Hays closing the show.

He is just one of several of country music’s top performers to entertain the crowd at the Guernsey County Fairgrounds this weekend.

The festival drew over two thousand fans, from several states and countries.

Some say they think it might be the start of something big.

“I think it’s great. I think it’s wonderful. And our community needs this again. We all miss Jamboree in the Hills so much.”

    Sally Geer, Old Washington OH

“I just want more people to come out here and support this. I hope they do it again next year. It’s so great to have this in Guernsey County. Please. We need people in Monroe, Noble, Guernsey, please, so they’ll come back. This is great for everybody in town with businesses. The food trucks up here they’re trying to make it.”

    Patty Kennedy, Owner, Kennedy Bakery

“So far we’ve had a great response from folks. They’re all talking about next year. We’ve got folks that come from several states and they say it feels like the old JAMBO. They’re excited.”

Dustin Knowlton, Owner / Promoter, Big Time Entertainment

The festival included 15 acts over the past three days.

Knowlton says they are already working on next year’s line up.
