( KRON ) - A heated exchange between Elon Musk and Senator Scott Wiener ensued on X over AB1955, a law that supports LGBTQ youth by increasing support for students, including allowing California school districts to choose not to disclose a child's sexual orientation to their parent.

The exchange started on Tuesday. Musk reposted an article announcing AB1955's passing, commenting, "The state will take away your kids in California."

For the following days, Musk hunkered down on his stance, claiming the goal of this "diabolical law" is to "break the parent-child relationship and put the state in charge of your children."

"Major problem. This California law should be repealed," Musk said, later also announcing that X will be moving its headquarters from California to Texas.

In reply, Wiener defended the bill by claiming California is responsible for much of Musk's success and that "Elon Musk is a textbook example of why kids shouldn't be forced to come out to their parents." Wiener continued, "Will this be a fake temper tantrum move just like Tesla's fake "move" to Texas?"

The following day, after reposting an article of the news that Musk will be moving X headquarters, Wiener said the following:

"I've long supported keeping tech here & I take plenty of heat for that. But a company HQing here doesn't mean its CEO gets to decide if LGBTQ Californians have civil rights. If protecting LGBTQ kids' safety is too much for Elon, that says way more about him than about SF & CA."

On Thursday, Wiener shared a large series of direct messages he received from X users accusing him of pedophilia, berating him with homophobic and racial insults and accusing him of being a child molester, among other accusations.

"X is often a toxic cesspool for LGBTQ people, but the last few days have been really something. The DMs & replies attached in this thread are only a sampling of what's coming my way & accelerated after I spoke out against Elon's dangerous comments about LGBTQ rights," Wiener said.

By Friday, in an article claiming JK Rowling – an internationally recognized author known for writing the Harry Potter series – believes gender dysphoria is best solved by enduring puberty, Musk reposted the article and said ‘jk_rowling is absolutely right!"

"Almost every child goes through some kind of identity crisis during puberty. It is deeply wrong to make them permanently infertile with "puberty blockers. If they still wish to transition as adults, provided they are fully informed of the risks, they can then make decisions as consenting adults." On the same day, Musk reposted a political cartoon depicting a parent who does not allow their child to get a tattoo because it is "too permanent."

After reposting a tweet on the dangers of the law on Saturday, Musk also accused Wiener of the following:

"AB 1955, authored by pedophile-apologist Scott Wiener and which @GavinNewsom just signed into law in California, is a child predator's dream," Musk said.

In reply to Musk, Wiener said Musk joins "Donald Trump Jr., Ted Cruz & Marjorie Taylor Greene (she called me a "communist groomer") in calling me a pedophile b/c I think the lives of LGBTQ kids have value & shouldn't be destroyed," he continued, "Bigots like Elon have said this about gay men forever. It instigates violence."
