    Queen tiaras and cow bells, blue ribbons and tractor pulls, funnel cakes and lemonade, demolition derbies, fireworks, rodeos, parades, music, rides and more.

    Summer is fair season in northwestern Pennsylvania.

    Whether at the local or county level, these popular multi-day events are held throughout the region. Perhaps you already have a favorite or maybe you're looking for a new one to experience.

    Here's a list, in chronological order, with dates, locations, admission prices and highlights for various area fairs. If you know of one we missed, send details in an email to dmassing@timesnews.com.

    Venango County Fair

    • Location: 867 Mercer Road, Franklin
    • Website: venangofair.com
    • Admission: $8 daily for ages 8 and older; $25 weekly; $5 grandstand; $10 pit pass
    • Highlights: Queen coronation, Aug 4, 6 p.m.; bluegrass night, Aug. 7, 7 p.m.; demolition derby, Aug. 10, 6 p.m.

    Cochranton Community Fair

    • Dates: Aug. 5-10
    • Location: 141 River St. Ext., Cochranton

    • Admission: Free
    • Highlights: Horse show, Aug. 7, noon; musician Morgan White, Aug. 10, 7 p.m., followed by fireworks.

    Warren County Fair

    • Dates: Aug. 5-10
    • Location: 371 Barton Run, Pittsfield
    • Website: warrencountyfair.net
    • Admission: $10 at the gate, $7 advance sale, free for age 2 and younger; $30 for family five pack of five gate passes.
    • Highlights: Chute-out rodeo, Aug. 5, 6:30 p.m.; country music artist Sammy Kershaw, Aug. 6, 7:30 p.m.; fireworks, Aug. 10, 10 p.m.

    Jefferson Township Fair

    • Dates: Aug. 6-10
    • Location: 7409 Lamor Road, Mercer

    • Admission: Free; grandstand, free on Aug. 6, $8 on Aug. 7-10 for age 13 and older; pit gate, free on Aug. 6, $15 on Aug. 7-10 for age 13 and older.
    • Highlights: Firemen's parade, Aug. 6, 7 p.m.; farmers market, Aug. 10, 9 a.m.-noon; fireworks, Aug. 10, 10 p.m.

    Crawford County Fair

    • Dates: Aug. 17-24
    • Location: 13291 Dickson Road, Meadville

    • Admission: Free, Aug. 17 and 18; $8 per person (cash at gate), Aug. 19-24; weekly pass for Aug. 19-24, $30; additional fees for some grandstand events and for ride-a-rama.
    • Highlights: Harness racing, Aug. 17, 1 p.m.; country music artist Chris Higbee, Aug. 19, 8 p.m.; Zerbini Family Circus, Aug. 24, 8 p.m. and other days and times.

    Erie County Fair at Wattsburg

    • Dates: Aug. 26-31
    • Location: 13993 Routes 8 and 89, Wattsburg

    • Admission: $10 including rides; $12 for weekly button not including rides; free for ages 5 and younger, military retirees, active military and reservists not including rides; $5 ride upgrade per day; additional fee for Thursday and Friday night grandstand.
    • Highlights: Senior king and queen crowned, Aug. 28, 6 p.m.; truck pulls, Aug. 30, 7 p.m.; fireworks, Aug. 31, 10 p.m.

    Great Stoneboro Fair

    • Dates: Aug. 28-Sept. 2
    • Location: 2381 Mercer Road, Stoneboro

    • Admission: $12 online presale all ages; free on Aug. 28; $15 at the gate Aug. 29-Sept. 2 for ages 3 and older.
    • Highlights: Milking contest, Aug. 28, 7 p.m.; Bullride Mania Rodeo, Aug. 30, 7 p.m.; demolition derby, Sept. 1, 7 p.m., followed by fireworks.

    Waterford Community Fair

    • Dates: Sept. 2-7
    • Location: 13012 Route, Waterford

    • Admission: $4, free for ages 8 and younger; $8 weekly booster button or wristband; extra for ride tickets or ride-a-rama.
    • Highlights: Medieval fair jousting and show, Sept. 2, 6 p.m.; demolition derby, Sept. 3, 7 p.m.; Keystone Mini-Mod tractor pull, Sept. 6, 7:30 p.m.

    Spartansburg Community Fair

    • Dates: Sept. 2-7
    • Location: 231 Jefferson St., Spartansburg

    • Admission: $5 daily, $10 weekly, free for ages 10 and younger; ride-a-rama, $20 bracelet or $18 for 10 tickets, $25 for 40 tickets.
    • Highlights: country music artist Chris Higbee, Sept. 4, 6 p.m.; antique tractor pull, Sept. 6, 7 p.m.; parade, Sept. 7, 11 a.m.

    Jamestown Community Fair

    • Dates: Sept. 3-7
    • Location: 204 Shenango St., Jamestown, Pa.

    • Admission: Free.
    • Highlights: Details not yet available for 2024 but typically features displays, food, vendors, more.

    Albion Area Fair

    • Dates: Sept. 10-14
    • Location: 30 Academy St., Albion

    • Admission: $5 daily; $10 booster button for the week pre-sale; $15 booster button for the week at the gate.
    • Highlights: Details not yet available for 2024 but typically includes fair queen and other contests, displays, music, animals, rides, food and more.
