    Top Palm Beach County professionals, business people on the move for the week of July 21

    In our weekly list of business people on the move, we highlight Palm Beach County professionals who are making a difference. These are people from across the spectrum of public and private endeavors, those working in charities, court houses, private practices and beyond. They are moving up within their industry, advancing their careers and standing out for their services within our community.

    Here are this week's professional standouts:

    Symphony CEO named Leadership Business Council chair

    David McClymont, chief executive officer of the Palm Beach Symphony, has been named chair of the board of directors of the Leadership Business Council in West Palm Beach. The goal of the Leadership Business Council is to enrich the lives of business professionals, business owners, C-suite executives and young entrepreneurs by presenting high caliber speakers on issues that are important to business leaders and professionals in Palm Beach County. Since becoming CEO of the Symphony in 2014, McClymont has overseen strong, innovative fundraising efforts and increased ticket sales, recruitment of high-profile guest artists, more diverse offerings, and an emphasis on music education and community outreach.

    Non-profit Bella's Angels makes board appointments

    Wellington-based Bella's Angels recently made two board appointments. Sam Forrest, a consultant and retired vice president for FPL has been appointed as chair of the board of directors. Kaile Macon, a commercial operations and strategy manager of NextEra Energy Resources has been appointed secretary of the board of directors. Bella's Angels is a local grassroots organization whose mission is to financially assist local children who have life-long physical disabilities, beyond what insurance covers.

    Delray Beach Housing Authority honors vice chairman's 8-year run

    The Delray Beach Housing Authority recently presented an award to Ezra Krieg, vice chairman of the organization from July 2016 to July 2024, for his dedicated service to the DBHA board of commissioners. “We thank Ezra for his 8 years of remarkable service, commitment, dedication and loyalty. He has surpassed expectations and reached for the stars. We wish him the best in his future endeavors and continued journey.” stated Shirley Erazo, president and CEO of DBHA. The Delray Beach Housing Authority is an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for low- and moderate-income families, and providing the opportunity for self-sufficiency by offering safe, quality housing. The Delray Beach Housing Authority has been in operation since 1973.

    Sustainable Palm Beach County adds board member

    Dr. Julie Botel of Riveria Beach has joined the board of Sustainable Palm Beach County. The organization's founder and president Karen Marcus says "Julie has an enviable track record of public service, and we are thrilled that she will bring her experience and wisdom to our mission. Upon retiring from a career as a successful education leader, she brought those leadership skills to Palm Beach County. A former Riviera Beach city councilperson and chair, Botel founded the Riviera Beach Tourism Committee, the Riviera Beach Workforce Development Task Force and the Riviera Beach Waterfront Advisory Committee. Founded by Marcus and Lisa Interlandi, Sustainable Palm Beach County’s mission is to “promote the long-term sustainability of Palm Beach County’s environment, neighborhoods, and quality of life through preservation, enhancement, and restoration of its environmental and community resources.”

    First Horizon Bank recognized for financial literacy volunteer work

    First Horizon Bank announced that it has been awarded the prestigious title of Volunteer Organization of the Year by Junior Achievement of South Florida. First Horizon, with locations in Jupiter, North Palm Beach, West Palm Beach, Palm Beach, Delray Beach and Boca Raton, has been actively involved in teaching financial literacy classes, aiming to equip individuals of all ages with the necessary knowledge and skills to make informed financial decisions. In the past year alone, the bank's passionate team of volunteers has collectively contributed over 600 hours towards delivering these essential classes. The success of First Horizon’s financial literacy programs would not have been possible without the dedication and support of its team of volunteers. These individuals, who come from diverse backgrounds within the bank, have generously shared their expertise and time to make a difference in their communities.

    Kravis Center board of directors elects three members

    The board of directors of the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts recently elected three new board members, Allan Adelson, William Mack and Dr. Martha Rodriguez. They will each began their three-year terms on July 1. Adelson, a resident of West Palm Beach, has been a real estate developer for more than 50 years. Mack is the chairman emeritus of the real estate investment firm, the Mack Real Estate Group, which specializes in domestic and international real estate development opportunities. Rodriguez has been a practicing physician for 37 years and is currently an internal medicine specialist at the practice she founded in Boynton Beach, MMR Healthcare.

    I Watch Your Home earns national accreditation

    I Watch Your Home has earned accreditation from the National Home Watch Association for the second year. The association was formed in 2009 in order to establish and maintain the highest industry standards for home watch and absentee homeowner services throughout the United States and Canada. Owner Cheryl Fairlie, originally from Massapequa, New York, offers peace of mind to homeowners, providing a plethora of concierge services, including coordination of airport transportation, grocery shopping, car detailing, and accepting deliveries. I Watch Your Home serves Coral Springs, Parkland, Pompano Beach, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, Highland Beach, and Deerfield Beach.

    Jones Foster adds lawyer specializing in litigation, dispute

    West Palm Beach-based Jones Foster, a 100-year-old commercial and private client law firm, recently announced that Danielle L. Jakeman has joined as an associate of the firm’s complex litigation and dispute resolution practice group in its West Palm Beach office. Jakeman’s practice will focus on representing individuals and businesses in a wide range of commercial litigation and employment litigation matters. She is actively involved in several legal organizations, including the Palm Beach County chapters of the Federal Bar Association and Florida Association for Women Lawyers, as well as The Florida Bar’s Young Lawyers Division.
