Perry, once a shining star in the UFC and now reigning bare-knuckle world champ , was bested by Paul when he stepped in for the iconic Mike Tyson, who had to bow out due to an ulcer issue.
Despite hitting the canvas three times, Perry hung in there until the sixth round before being put down for good.
McGregor, who earlier this year threw his financial weight behind BKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship), didn't mince words about Perry's performance, saying: "Hey Mike, you're released and you can go and compete in your smelly dirty boxing championship thing, the smell of it, good luck. You're fired."
Yet, Perry seemed unfazed by McGregor's harsh words. In a comeback to the ex-double division king, Perry remarked, "He doesn't have permission because we're both owners of BKFC so he can't fire me. We can fight in bare-knuckle. Look at me, I lost to Jake Paul, why doesn't he fight Jake Paul in boxing with gloves on? I think it'll be worse than his fight with Floyd Mayweather."
Following Paul's 10th professional victory, McGregor didn't shy away from slamming the internet celeb, accusing him of doping. "Jake Paul is the biggest p---bag I have ever seen in my life," he wrote.
"Forty-pound weight difference juiced out of his head, and still -------- himself in there. Nakisa you should take him to Vegas... oh that's right you could never, the Athletic Commission testing, real testing, real fighting. You could never. And then calling out 60-year-old Mike Tyson fresh off an in-flight medical emergency? I swear to God, a fat can of ----- ----. Most valuable p---bag."
Paul, who has consistently denied using performance-enhancing drugs, fired back by saying: "I said, 'After I ---- up Mike Perry, you're next' so Conor's on Twitter, he's on his yacht, but guess where he's not? In the ring fighting me. He can talk all the ---- he wants but The 'Notorious MMA' is scared of Jake Joseph Paul from Disney Channel."
Meanwhile, McGregor is eagerly awaiting the UFC to announce a new date for his much-anticipated return to the cage against Michael Chandler. The rivals were initially set to face off in June, but McGregor had to withdraw due to a broken toe.
The fight is now expected to occur at UFC 310 on December 14.
