The Fort Myers Taco Bell, located at 17460 Ben Hill Griffin Pkwy, was recently inspected by the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation, requiring a follow-up inspection.

What Happened During The Inspection: The routine inspection of the Lee County fast food restaurant on July 18th revealed 4 total violations, ranging from high-priority violations with insect-related issues to basic ones.

High-priority issues included the presence of live, small flying insects in various areas of the restaurant. Inspectors noted 12 insects on boxes and shelves in the back dry storage area near the office, 12 by the mop sink and nearby boxes, and 10 around the self-service soda machine and trash in the dining room.

Additionally, a vacuum breaker was missing at the mop sink faucet, which had a two-way splitter added but lacked one vacuum breaker.

Intermediate violations indicated a lack of evidence showing that food employees were made aware of their obligation to report health issues and activities related to food safety concerns.

The inspector's note showed that the operator was unable to provide the necessary documentation at the time of inspection, although forms were provided for future compliance.

Basic violations included nonfood-contact surfaces soiled with grease, food debris, dirt, slime, or dust. These issues were found on nonfood-contact parts of soda machines and on shelving underneath the self-service soda machine.

Customer Reviews and Ratings: Meanwhile, customer reviews of this Fort Myers Taco Bell on Google reflect mixed experiences. The location has a 3.4-star rating from 757 Google reviews.

A customer named Marie Elizabeth criticized the slow service, mentioning a 30-minute wait in the drive-thru.

Laura Topliffe pointed out the poor attitudes of employees, attributing it to understaffing, and stated she would not return.

Employees with piss poor attitudes because they're understaffed. Will not return.

Conversely, M. VasQuez praised the current general manager for their kindness and good service, noting they never had a bad experience.

Never had a bad experience here. The current GM here gets 5 stars as well. Thank you for your kindness and good service.

The Taco Bell in Fort Myers will now need to address these violations promptly to improve its standing and ensure a better dining experience for its customers.
