Prince William 's oldest son, Prince George , doesn't just look like him—he also shares his father’s hand gestures and communication style, particularly when they’re chatting in public. It was an endearing moment caught on camera during the father-son duo’s surprise appearance at the UEFA EURO 2024 final match between Spain and England on July 14.

During the game, Prince William, 42, was captured on camera leaning over to whisper something into his lookalike son ’s ear. But as he leans over, the future king covers his mouth with a closed fist.

Another photo taken shows Prince George, 10, emulating the gesture to talk to his dad. Throughout the game, the father and son chat back and forth this way. Being that the royals are always on camera, this method of communication might be used so that no one can read their lips as they talk. See more examples below:

Aside from conversing on the sidelines, there was a lot of cheering from the father-son pair. After Team England scored their first (and only) goal, Prince William and Prince George were captured on camera standing from their seats and clapping along with the other attendees.

Unfortunately, Team England lost to Team Spain with a score of 2-1. Following the game, Prince William took to social media to send a special message to the English men’s soccer team. In the now-expired Instagram Story, the message read, “This time it just wasn't meant to be. We're all still so proud of you. Onwards @england.” And before he could end the message, he signed it with his initial: “W.”

Prince William and Prince George are like two peas in a pod.
