Boil water advisory issued for parts of Edgefield/Aiken Counties

EDGEFIELD/AIKEN COUNTIES, S.C. (WJBF) —- The Edgefield County Water and Sewer Authority is issuing a boil water notice for several locations in Edgefield and Aiken Counties.

People who live on Bergen Rd (including but not exclusive to Bergen Place, Bergen West, Wando Woodlands, Willowwick Apts, Briton Ridge Apts.), Gregory Lake Rd area (including but not exclusive to Gregory Landing S/D, Oak Creek S/D), and Martintown Rd. between Gregory Lake Rd and Bergen Rd. in Edgefield and Aiken County are asked to boil their water for at least one (1) full minute before drinking or cooking until further notice.

Officials say the Edgefield County Water and Sewer Authority experienced a main line water leak along Martintown Rd that caused an interruption of service and/or loss of pressure.
