After breaking off three wins in Team USA’s showcase series before the start of the Olympics in Paris, the Americans found themselves in trouble on Saturday in London in a battle with South Sudan.

Following a quiet start that included shooting struggles and a flurry of turnovers, Team USA trailed by 14 points to South Sudan at halftime in London.

Despite their ice-cold open against South Sudan, Team USA began to mount a comeback late. Stephen Curry provided a park for Team USA with one of his signature long-distance triple before the start of the fourth quarter.

With time dwindling away in the third quarter, Team USA avoided a near-disaster turnover with the help of Curry. Following a sloppy inbound pass, Curry saved a near-turnover and wasted no time pulling up from way beyond the arc. After securing the ball, Curry fired a shot from deep that set the O2 Arena in London into a frenzy along with giving Team USA a much-needed 3-point lead.

Before the Olympics get underway, Team USA will play one more showcase game against Germany in London on Monday.
