Drunk RNC Delegate Assaults Woman After Trump's Unity Speech

    2024-07-21

EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Drunk RNC Delegate misses Trump's unity message, commits apparent assault on female onlooker in Milwaukee. Stay tuned for updates.

Former President and Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump delivered a message of unity to close the RNC in Milwaukee on Thursday after a star-studded night that saw Hulk Hogan, Kid Rock, and Dana White’s full-throated endorsements of the 45th President and the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement.

"In an age when power politics too often divide us, now is the time to remember that we are all fellow citizens," he said.

Trump emphasized healing political wounds and ending partisan divides. "We are one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Trump urged Americans to unite and move past animosity.

"We are Americans. Ambition is our heritage. Greatness is our birthright. But as long as our energies are spent fighting each other, our destiny will remain out of reach," he concluded in his 92-minute speech.

He called on all Americans to come together.

"We can do it together. We will unite. We are going to come together, and success will bring us together."

However, Trump's message seemed to be lost on at least one attendee at Milwaukee's Baird Center Thursday night.

Exclusive video shows an intoxicated RNC delegate committing violence against a woman just minutes after Trump concluded his speech. Balloons were still falling from the rafters when the footage showed the delegate aggressively confronting the woman, who appeared to be recording the events unfolding at the convention.

The video depicts the delegate striking the woman's wrist, causing her phone to fall and her to stumble backward. Eyewitnesses described the delegate as visibly intoxicated and belligerent.

One witness asked to remain anonymous and said, "He was shouting something about the election and looked really angry. It was scary."

Another attendee, who was leaving the convention center then, added, "It was shocking to see such behavior right after a speech calling for unity and peace."

This outlet contacted the Milwaukee Police Department regarding the incident:

Subject: Report of Violence Against Women Incident on July 18 at approximately 11:15pm CDT outside the Baird Center

    To: mpdnews@milwaukee.gov

    Dear Sir or Madam:

We are journalists following up on an assault and battery by an apparently intoxicated male whom sources tell us was a delegate to the Republican National Convention this past week. After President Donald Trump concluded his speech on July 18 and RNC delegates and attendees began filing out of the Baird Center at approximately 11:15pm CDT, this individual did not seem to grasp the president's message of "unity."

We received the attached video showing the individual striking a female bystander on her wrist, causing her cell phone to fall to the ground. We understand there is more video, but this is all that has been released at this time. Witnesses we spoke to said the individual appeared intoxicated, although our investigation reveals that alcohol was not being served late into the night at the Baird Center. Can you confirm this?

We did not see any report of this incident in the public logs disclosed by the department. Is there any report of this incident? Did the Milwaukee PD receive a report? Is there an ongoing investigation?

    Thank you for your time.

    Regards,

    Dick LaFontaine

As of press time, the Milwaukee Police Department has not responded to our inquiry.

Sources indicate that the individual delegate involved may be a high-ranking official within a state Republican Party. We await confirmation of the delegate's identity and any charges that may be filed.

As the investigation continues, the delegate's poor behavior casts a shadow over the unity message delivered by Trump. The irony of the situation is not lost on those who witnessed the assault, as an act of violence and division immediately followed Trump's call for healing and unity.

“Political parties sometimes face challenges in addressing internal conflicts and maintaining decorum among their members. But this individual’s actions are beyond the pale,” said a well-known Manhattan Democratic Consultant on condition of anonymity. “They will tell you there was a speech about the importance of upholding the values of respect and unity in our national political discourse. I call bullshit. Beyond [Trump’s] divisive rhetoric, that an RNC Delegate would engage in violence against women moments after the balloon fell from the rafters in Milwaukee tells you all you need to know.”

The story is developing, and we will continue to update with any new information as it becomes available. Stay tuned for further updates on this breaking news.
