Candidate Conversations: Scharf for Missouri AG, Morrison for Governor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — As the August Primary approaches, our “Candidate Conversations” continue in the Missouri Attorney General and Governor races, on both sides of the aisle.

Will Scharf, who’s taking on current A.G. Andrew Bailey in the GOP Primary, is perhaps best known as an attorney for former President Donald Trump. Scharf discusses his campaign, why he’s taking on a fellow conservative, and discusses some of the issues facing an attorney general in the Show-Me state.

Then, Democrat governor hopeful Eric Morrison of Kansas City joins to discuss his third try at the office in Missouri. Morrison is a pastor who has raised little money and has garnered few votes in his last two attempts (2016 and 2020) but explains why once again he is seeking the long-shot nomination.

He also discusses some of the issues facing the next governor, including the state’s role in stadium funding and state control of the Kansas City Police Department.
