Delicious Copycat Recipe: KFC Coleslaw - The Perfect Imitation

    2024-07-22

This is the perfect imitation recipe for Kentucky Fried Chicken Coleslaw. This is not only a simple recipe but also incredibly delicious with its fresh, crisp veggies. This coleslaw is spot on with the taste you know and love from KFC thanks to its fresh ingredients and balance of flavors. This dish will wow whether you're presenting it as a side dish for your preferred cuisine, a family get-together, or a summer BBQ.

I love adding this coleslaw to pulled pork sandwiches, burgers, or fish tacos. It's so fresh and adds a great crunch. If you are looking for a shortcut, you can always buy the prepackaged Coleslaw mix from the grocery store.

This will last 3–5 days in an airtight container in the fridge.

    Ingredients:

    • 1 cup mayonnaise
    • 2 teaspoons of kosher salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon of freshly ground pepper
    • 2 large, shredded carrots
    • 1 large yellow onion, diced
    • The juice of 1 medium lemon
    • Shred one medium head of cabbage (either green, purple, or a mixture).
    • 1/2 cup whole milk
    • 1/2 cup buttermilk
    • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar (with the mother!)

    Directions:

    1. Shred your carrots and cabbage into a large bowl, then toss in your diced onions. Mix your vegetables together.
    2. Using a medium-sized bowl, add the juice of one lemon, whole milk, mayonnaise, buttermilk, sugar, and apple cider vinegar.
    3. Pour over the top of your veggies and combine. Place it in the fridge and allow the flavors to meld for a few hours.
    4. When ready to serve, remove it from the fridge.

    Enjoy Friends! ❤️

My husband doesn't like any kind of potato, macaroni or Cole slaw except for KFC slaw. We don't go there anymore because of high prices and every order is missing items even if I order online and they have 20 minutes to get it together. This recipe is the very closest I've ever had to KFC. it's a keeper. Husband approved. Thank you for sharing it
