SHOCK POLL: Biden Getting Absolutely Clobbered in Michigan, Trails Trump By 7 Points in Make-or-Break State

A poll released early Sunday morning found President Joe Biden trailing far behind former President Donald Trump and well outside the survey’s margin of error in the battleground state of Michigan.

The Detroit Free Press , which commissioned the poll , reported a plurality of 600 likely Michigan voters supported Trump in a five-way race.

In a matchup wherein Trump and Biden compete for votes with independent candidates Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Cornel West , as well as Green Party candidate Jill Stein , Trump came out on top.

Trump led that hypothetical matchup with 43 percent support, compared to 36 percent support for Biden. Kennedy brought in the support of 8 percent of the poll’s respondents while Stein and West each received the support of 2 percent of those who answered the survey.

Nine percent of respondents said they were undecided.

In a head-to-head against Trump and Biden, the poll found the president underwater. The Free Press reported that Trump led Biden 49 percent to 42 percent – trailing by seven points.

In the head-to-head, nine percent of respondents also indicated they remained undecided regarding who to support. The newspaper reported:

Trump led in every region of the state, including in metro Detroit — defined as Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties and seen as the most predominantly Democratic region in Michigan — where he held a slim but remarkable 46%-44% edge in the head-to-head matchup with Biden and a 43%-38% margin in the five-way race.

Trump’s lead in metro Detroit is a significant indicator of how the political winds have changed for Biden, who four years ago, beat Trump 56%-40% in the region.

Veteran Michigan pollster Bernie Porn , who conducted the survey, said Trump’s lead in the state is the strongest for a Republican since 1988 when then-Vice President George H.W. Bush went on to win the state.

Sunday’s poll reported a margin of error at +/- 4 percentage points.

Biden has been fighting for his political life for three weeks since his disastrous debate performance last month against Trump in Georgia. Dozens of congressional Democrats have asked him to drop out of the race. He is currently isolated in Delaware after he tested positive for Covid-19 last week.
