Virginia’s job market is took a hit last week, and it’s hitting hard. Just after BAE Systems dropped the news of 56 layoffs at its McLean office, another blow has come from Keurig Green Mountain. The coffee giant has announced a significant cutback, with379 employees at its Windsor office facing job losses by the end of the year.

Keurig Green Mountain has filed a notice with the Virginia Employment Commission, revealing their plan to shut down the Windsor office completely. According to the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, companies with more than 100 employees must give a 60-day notice before laying off 50 or more workers at a single location. While Keurig is following the rules, it doesn’t make the news any less challenging for those impacted.

This latest round of layoffs adds to the strain on Virginia’s job market. With major players like BAE Systems and Keurig Green Mountain cutting back, the job landscape is looking tougher for those who will be affected. For many, the next few months will be a period of significant transition as they search for new opportunities.

We’ll keep you updated on how these layoffs continue to affect the community and the workforce in Virginia. Stay tuned as we follow the developments and provide more information on this unfolding situation.
