AEW introduced a new theme song for AEW Collision on July 20th, and the change led to some criticism.

Since AEW Collision premiered in June 2023, the company had used “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting” by Elton John as the opening theme song. However, the July 20th episode debuted a new song for the intro.

In a tweet, AEW music producer Mikey Rukus addressed the change and the criticism surrounding it. He wrote that he knew it would be universally hated, as there was no such thing as an upgrade from Elton John. Rukus stated that change was inevitable, and they tried something different. He also wrote that the team was happy with it, and it would not be changing.
