Traffic Alert: Fatal crash on I-95 closes southbound lanes

Update:

The crash involved one vehicle losing control for an unknown reason.

The driver of the 2005 Nissan Pathfinder overcorrected on I-95, causing the vehicle to overturn several times.

The driver and three passengers of the vehicle were ejected, the driver was pronounced dead on the scene, the passengers were taken to the hospital and are in critical condition.

The Florida Highway Patrol said troopers are at the scene of a fatal crash on southbound Interstate 95 in Brevard County.

FHP said the crash is on I-95 south of the St. Johns Heritage Parkway.

Troopers said all southbound lanes are closed while victims are being airlifted and troopers conduct the investigation.

FHP urges drivers to seek an alternative route as they clear the roadway.

Traffic is being diverted onto St. Johns Heritage Parkway.
