In a harrowing incident that unfolded in 2016, a man was literally boiled alive and tragically dissolved in a hot spring in Yellowstone National Park while his sibling filmed the horrific event .

Colin Scott, aged 23, lost his balance and fell into the blisteringly hot waters near Porkchop Geyser, where he was first boiled before the highly acidic water broke down his remains.

Official reports issued following Colin's grim demise revealed that he and his sister, Sable, had foolishly strayed into an off-limits area in hopes of finding a spot for a forbidden dip.

This, despite clear warnings advising visitors to stay on the boardwalk.

The brother-sister duo were recorded veering off the Norris Geyser Basin's dedicated walkway as they sought out the perfect pool. However, their ill-fated adventure abruptly ended when Colin stumbled and fell into the striking blue waters below.

The bone-chilling report from 2016 details: "The smartphone recorded the moment he slipped and fell into the pool and her efforts to rescue him."

With no mobile reception, Sable made a frantic run to a local museum to apprise authorities of the dire situation. However, by the time she got back with park rangers, it was all over, reports the Express US .

Remnants of Colin's cranium, upper body, and hands could be seen floatin' about the hot spring.

According to the official record: "Due to the report of the individual not previously visible, a lack of movement, suspected extreme temperatures, and indications of several thermal burns, the subject was determined to be deceased."

US park ranger Phil Strehle, in a separate account, noted spotting a V-neck T-shirt and "what appeared to be a cross was visible and resting on the subject's face".

However, due to the unstable nature of the thermal area and an oncoming storm, the man's body could not be securely retrieved, impeding rescue operations.

By the following morning, only Colin's wallet and flip-flops were left, with no sign of his body.

The report concluded that extreme heat and acidity had fully dissolved Colin overnight, stating: "The consensus among the rescue/recovery team...was that the extreme heat of the hot spring, coupled with its acidic nature, dissolved the remains."

Normally, the basin's water is around 199F; however, during efforts to recover Colin's body, it was boiling at 212F. The video footage shot by Sable has yet to be made public and remains under secure custody of the law enforcement.
