2024 MLB End Of Season Award Predictions

    By Josh Rasmussen,

The MLB is entering the second half of the season after this year's exciting all-star break which saw Teoscar Hernandez win the Home Run Derby and the AL win the All-Star Game.

The award races are officially underway and players will be at their top form. Who will end up winning MVP, ROTY, and all the others?

    #1: Manager Of The Year

AL: Stephen Vogt - Cleveland Guardians NL: Pat Murphy - Milwaukee Brewers

Stephen Vogt and Pat Murphy have similar stories on why they are the favorites to win Manager of the Year. Murphy is replacing longtime Brewers manager Craig Counsell and Vogt is replacing Terry Francona, a legend in Cleveland. Both have been exceeding expectations with their clubs this season, leading two of this year's surprise contenders.

Matt Quatraro of the Royals and Rob Thomson of the Phillies are other contenders for this award.

    #2: Rookie Of The Year

AL: Colton Cowser - Baltimore Orioles NL: Paul Skenes - Pittsburgh Pirates

Paul Skenes is going to win the NL ROTY. There is zero competition for him unless he gets injured. AL ROTY is a very open race between almost anyone but Cowser's peripherals look like the best of the group. He should be able to get into a groove in the second half and take home this award as long as he strikes out a bit less.

Luis Gil of the Yankees and Wyatt Langford of the Rangers are the two other major contenders for this award.

    #3: Cy Young

AL: Corbin Burnes - Baltimore Orioles NL: Zack Wheeler - Philadelphia Phillies

In 2021, the NL Cy Young race was between Zack Wheeler and Corbin Burnes, and now in 2024, they're both likely to be taking home the award. Both have tough competitors in Chris Sale and Tarik Skubal but both are significantly more durable than their best competition, which will likely lead to their benefit. Both have great strikeout numbers and pitch lots of innings which will lead them towards winning this award.

    #4: Most Valuable Player

AL: Aaron Judge - New York Yankees NL: Shohei Ohtani - Los Angeles Dodgers

Both are currently the favorites and are heading towards adding another MVP to their collections. Aaron Judge is on pace to hit near the number of home runs he hit in 2022 when he won MVP and is currently the slight favorite over Orioles superstar SS Gunnar Henderson.

Shohei Ohtani is looking to make history as the first-ever DH to win the MVP as the former frontrunner and teammate Mookie Betts battles a broken hand. Both players are exceeding the already high expectations put on them and should be recognized for their excellence.
