Rock County Historical Society seeking donations for community yard sale

JANESVILLE, Wis. -- The Rock County Historical Society announced Tuesday it is seeking anything re-saleable that community members are willing to donate for a community-wide yard sale.

The RCHS said the yard sale will give people an opportunity to donate and purchase quality, gently used items. The event will raise funds to help the RCHS with its mission of enriching and engaging the community through the preservation and dissemination of the unique heritage in Rock County.

Set for Aug. 17, the RCHS said the yard sale will also raise funds for the continued care and maintenance of the Lincoln-Tallman museum. The event offers an opportunity for donators to declutter and provide items that may be perfect for a shopper's needs.

The RCHS said it is accepting donations of anything re-saleable, with the exception of clothing, between Aug. 5-16. Residents can donate on weekdays between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or call (608) 346-3279 to donate on weekends. The yard sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on RCHS grounds, and will operate regardless of weather.
