Shawn Michaels praises former NXT Champion Trick Williams .

Trick Wiliams has become a breakout star in NXT, and he reached a new level when he won the NXT Championship. His reign surprisingly came to an end when Ethan Page won the gold at NXT Heatwave.

Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated , Shawn Michaels spoke highly of Trick Williams.

“Trick has an incredibly bright future,” Shawn Michaels said. “He’s amazing to work with on a day-to-day basis, he’s so receptive. He’s one of the hottest things in the business as a whole, but he’s still a humble kid working and digging to get better every day. I really respect that.”

Michaels also commented on the buzz about Trick Williams’ future on the main roster. He stated that Williams wants to thrive as a main player on the main roster.

“I read on social media that he’s already main-roster ready,” Shawn Michaels said. “I don’t think that’s the goal for Trick. He doesn’t want to just go and exist on the main roster–he wants to go there and thrive as a main player. I appreciate his maturity and wisdom. He’s a joy to come work with, and I’m excited to see what he does next.”

For now, Williams is focused on getting his NXT Championship back, as he made it clear that he had his sights set on the gold on the July 16th episode of WWE NXT.
