Nice summer weekend, humidity returns this week, spotty storms

High pressure over the Great Lakes ensured comfortable humidity. with light northerly flow. Temperatures were slightly cooler with filtered sunshine, in the low 80s. Clouds will increase later tonight, keeping readings up compared to recent mornings, in the mid-60s.

High clouds will continue to stream in from the west, as a weak upper-level wave moves across Kentucky. A few showers could develop toward daybreak and skip across the southern half of the state.

A southerly flow will develop early in the week, as high pressure shifts farther east, resulting in an increase in moisture . Scattered showers and storms are likely with a series of disturbances rippling across the region.

Seasonably warm and humid conditions will prevail through much of the week, with daily opportunities for scattered showers and storms. A frontal boundary will stall north of the Ohio River, acting as a focus for a series for more numerous showers and storms midweek.

High temperatures will generally peak in the mid-80s. Drier conditions will return by the start of the weekend.
