“Aw that’s so kind but I’m not,” Cattrall wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, responding to a report that claimed she’s appearing on the next season of the show.

Life & Style reported on July 10 that Cattrall agreed to be on Season 3 of the “Sex and the City” sequel series, which stars her former co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis.
She made a brief cameo during the Season 2 finale when Samantha calls Carrie Bradshaw (Parker) from London.

“Since they’ve paved the way for Samantha to come back, it’s assumed that they’ve done a deal with Kim and they’re just waiting for the right time to announce it,” an insider claimed to Life & Style.
“The word is that she’ll get to do all her scenes in London,” the source further alleged. “They’ll be bending over backwards to pay her an absolute fortune, and it’s all on her terms because she’s so central to the franchise.”
“She doesn’t do fake friendships, she’s not going to sit around and pretend to be best friends with Sarah, even if she does take the paycheck,” they claimed.

The scene from the Season 2 finale saw Samantha calling Carrie and telling her that her flight from London was delayed, so she’d have to miss Carrie’s farewell dinner at her old apartment.
Cattrall said on “The View” in June 2023 that it was HBO and Max chief content officer Casey Bloys who made the ask for her to return.
“It’s very interesting to get a call from the head of HBO saying, ‘What can we do?’” Cattrall said during the interview. “And I went, ‘Hmmm … let me get creative.’ “
