Good afternoon everyone. We continue to watch abundant moisture along the Gulf Coast in the form of heavy showers and thundershowers. Heavy rain and rumbles stretch across parts of Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, and interior sections of Georgia as tropical moisture pushes northward from the Gulf of Mexico.

While we don't have any severe thunderstorm watches at this time, we are seeing stronger storms developing on the back side and well north and west from our area of Gulf energy. Areas such as central Texas, southeast Colorado, northeast New Mexico, and the Pandhandle of Oklahoma, have seen numerous monsoon-esque storms typical of late August and early September.

Individual cells will be capable and have had a history of reaching severe limits. These storms may contain large hail, damaging winds, frequent cloud-to-ground lightning, torrential rain, and the chance of an isolated tornado. We expect this action to continue into the evening, then mostly fizzle out overnight without the energy of the sun.

Stay tuned to your local agencies for the latest watches and warnings.
