Larry Birkhead Shares Rare Throwback Photo of His and Anna Nicole Smith's Daughter Dannielynn

While Dannielynn Birkhead , the daughter of Larry Birkhead and Anna Nicole Smith , is almost 18 years old, her father took a moment to look back on when she was just a baby, sharing a rare throwback photo from an appearance on Larry King Live .

Birkhead took to his Instagram Stories to share the snap, with the photo showing Birkhead sitting across from Larry King , holding a baby Dannielynn up so that she was standing on the table. Everyone in the photo was smiling, and the picture appeared to be signed by the late TV host.

The TV appearance occurred in 2007 when Dannielynn was less than 1 year old, and mere months after the death of her mother. Before Smith's death, she, Birkhead, her partner at the time Howard K. Stern , and more engaged in a complicated paternity legal battle that eventually ended after a paternity test proved Birkhead was Dannielynn's father.

During his visit to Larry King Live , Birkhead spoke about Dannielynn, the case and Smith's death, telling the host that everything he went through was "more than worth it."

"I mean, unfortunately, you know, things happened that you wish wouldn't have happened, and the loss of people that you loved and cared about. But the, you know, the fight for my daughter, it just felt instinct. It was worth it," he continued, via Hello!

Birkhead also spoke about being a father for the first time after he got custody of Dannielynn, saying, "It's [one of] the greatest feelings. It's, you know, it's like magic. You wake up every morning and you rush in and you can't wait until she wakes up."

Since then, Birkhead has kept Dannielynn's life quite private, although they traditionally make an appearance together at the Kentucky Derby each year. At the 2024 event, Dannielynn flaunted her distinct style in unique outfits that fans loved.
