    Pilot Rock Fire in Umatilla County downgraded to Level 1 ‘Be Ready’ evacuation

    PORTLAND, ( KOIN ) — The Pilot Rock Fire evacuation level in Umatilla County has been downgraded to a Level 1 “Be Ready” status.

    This area includes South of Coombes Canyon Road and North of milepost 32 on Highway 395 South (Gurdane Road) between the county border on the west and just west of East Birch Creek, the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday afternoon.

    The downgraded evacuation level comes after the Pilot Rock Fire had been declared a Level 3 “Go Now” on Thursday , at which time the fire was 20,000 acres.

    It’s unclear what the current size or containment level of the fire is.
